Hi everyone!
I just got a (nice) cast-off convertible laptop from my wife's office to wipe and re-purpose, so now it's a dedicated music studio machine trying out KXStudio. Ergo, I've joined this forum for camaraderie and support.
My music history goes back to picking up the clarinet in elementary school band and then getting into computer music with my first Commodore 64, composing and arranging with Deluxe Music Construction Set and getting S.A.M. to sing. Since then, I've been through the Amiga and Windows PCs, finally settling into using Linux about 2006, mostly Ubuntu variants.
Composing and arranging -- terms I use rather generously for myself -- I do these days with MuseScore. I'm interested in the clarinet, organ, English handbells and choral music.
A Yamaha HX-1 awaits reassembly in the basement, and somewhere in the house is a WX-5 (but no sound module worthy of it). There's also a Casio HT-700 for when I get the urge to pretend I've got giant 3:2 scale fingers! I'm looking to get a reasonably priced decent modern MIDI adapter sometime to see what I can do with that collection. And if someone gives me a Cadillac, perhaps I can trade that for a microphone.
Glad to be here.
