I'm having a problem with a2jmidid not connecting to yoshimi unless I click it manually in the connection window for every session. The patchbay used to work, but no longer does, which might have something to do with some recent updates. The patchbay still seem to wire everything else up, just not a2j. Has anyone else had this issue?

After some further playing around, I created a new patchbay based on a snapshot of the current connections, which seems to work properly, but the exact same connection just refuses to reconnect in the old file. I don't really want to abandon the old file because it has a lot of other connections that would take a long time to copy over.

Edit: I figured it out. The Yoshimi client had stealthily renamed its port back to "yoshimi" instead of "yoshimi-01", thus screwing up the connection. So simple, yet frustrating.

Are you working an all-jack setup?
If so, for a couple of releases Yoshimi was (wrongly) creating separate clients for MIDI and audio. This was corrected in V 1.4.0. As I use an ALSA-Jack setup I didn't notice it until someone else told me!
