The Story Of The Tribes

Taking a breather from software stuff I've been making a long overdue update to my website, and shuffling files about.
A short series of tunes I've composed along with a story line is now on it's own page:
http://www.musically.me.uk/thetribes.html
In general my website is very minimalistic and this page is no exception. I hope you enjoy the tracks, and the story. There is more of the story already planned. The hard part is representing this in music.

The music is nice but website is a bit hard on the eyes. I suggest using lighter background or darker buttons. Also, the dark blue text on black background is barely readable. I suggest updating to HTML5 and using the <audio> tag. Also, no FLAC?

I don't know. Your website looks fine to me. If you're ever in doubt just visit RMS' website. Yours is pretty advanced with all those mouse over effects. I've not heard your music yet though. I gotta run, things to do. I can't wait to hear it. Story based albums are the best.

Thanks for listening guys.
@FaTony Point taken on the colours. It's probably about 10 years since I looked critically at the site. Background lightened, and blue text is now a fairly pale cyan. However, I pay for my storage so Flac is a non-starter. I use a fairly high quality setting for ogg, and mp3 is LAME VBR.
@beck "Taming The Stones" was a very difficult concept to put into music. Some like it, some don't. The next part is a much tougher proposition, and so far I've been able to make
no progress on it for 6 months

Hi,
Some absolutely beautiful sections in these, I also really like some of the voice/choir patches as well. Quite an ambitious project all in all

Really nice pieces! The structures and synthesized sounds remind me of the OSTs from games of the SNES and Playstation era and coming from me that's a huge compliment
I'd suggest you augment your website with and audio tag to play the songs in place
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/doc ... ment/audio
Finally you could host the flacs on archive.org no problem. I'd definitely download it and listen from time to time. I'm just saying all this in the interest of more people listening to your tracks.
Other than that, I wish you luck on composing the rest of your story!

Sorry to be slow coming back to this. I'm up to my eyeballs in code 'stuff'.
I've got quite a lot of shortish tracks on the Archive as ogg and mp3 (BitsAndPieces). I hadn't thought of putting stuff up there as flac. That's probably a good idea.
I'm sure there was a spare microsecond somewhere round here
