sadko4u, this is awesome...

I was just listening to a few old songs I did and hated the kick drum. I was about to redo the entire drums in Hydrogen with a different kit but now I'll try this first.

Thanx :D

What's the difference between lsp-plugins-lxvst-1.0.8-x86_64.tar.gz and lsp-plugins-jack-1.0.8-x86_64.tar.gz?

I think the vst one is clear, it's like the older one I already have, 19 individual *.so files in my VST directory.

But there is a "for JACK" version that I don't understand. It's two directories: bin and lib. The bin directory contains 22 files, all the same size and no extension. The lib directory contains only one file, lsp-plugins-jack-core.so. How does someone use any one plugin individually? And why is it "for JACK"? The vst ones work fine in JACK.

Sorry, I'm confused and curious.

TIA

lsp-plugins-jack-1.0.8-x86_64.tar.gz are standalone applications, so you may launch them under JACK without use of any plugin host.
Here's the description from changelog:
Implemented JACK wrapper, all plugins now have their standalone implementations.
The bin directory contains 22 files, all the same size and no extension. The lib directory contains only one file, lsp-plugins-jack-core.so. How does someone use any one plugin individually?
lsp-plugins-jack-core.so is the core library where the compiled code of all plugins is placed, all other binaries without extension are launchers for the specified plugin. So to start the plugin you just need now to type, for example, in console:

Code: Select all

#> lsp-plugins-trigger-mono
The wrapper searches for the core library in the system, loads the library and executes the code of the corresponding plugin from the library.
And why is it "for JACK"? The vst ones work fine in JACK.
Again, JACK version of plugins does not require any LinuxVST host to be used, they launch like individual JACK applications.
Sorry, I'm confused and curious.
Hope now the difference is clear.

I didn't realize they were executables. It's clear now. Thank you.
