NEW RELEASE out now! QStudio64-19.1-SE

The second edit of QStudio64 contains some bugfixes&improvements!

Changes-log:

- Kernel Linux 4.15.0-74-lowlatency x86_64
- KXStudio-Repositories 10.x
- new MESA-driver
- Bitwig Studio 3.1.2

-> People which have the first edit of QStudio64 19.1 installed just need to upgrade their KXStudio-Repos and running all updates! read

Linux Mint Upgrade (optional)

QStudio64-19.x gets updates until April 2023.

Optional you can upgrade to a higher version of Linux Mint:
Since Linux Mint 19.x it is really easy to upgrade with the update-manager.
All apps and settings will be saved.

-> QStudio64-19.1-SE comes with lowlatency-kernel 4.15.0-xx because of its long term support until 2023.
After upgrading to Linux Mint 19.3 you can try Kernel 5.0 or higher - but Kernel 4.15 is recommend!

-> Backup all your personal data and/or make a snapshot with timeshift before!

Our focus is on stability and multimedia-production - do it on your own risk.

-> If you are not sure what to do and/or have no hardwaredriver-problems,
it's recommend to stay with the solid Linux Mint 19.1 base.

I have used Mint 20 for audio recording, connected to kxstudio repos, and it was totally fine. I have lately been using AVL-MXE, so this info is dated by a few months. (And this thread is dated by a few years...)

@milo : Of course, you can build your own daw-studio-system with Linux Mint KXStudio-Repos like you can do with Ubuntu, Debian too.

But can you use it as a livesystem (e.g.as a dj) on a pendrive!? :P
How much time does one person need to configure a Linux System for multimedia?
What is with people with less skills?

QStudio64 is much more than just Linux Mint and the KXStudio-Repos, bringing its own focus and a pulseaudio-free, pure ALSA/JACK based soundsystem.

It's build and optimized to make art and music and be creative and the tention to be really stable from the first start!

Also userfriendly for beginners and experts, running smooth on older machines too,..
