Incomplete GUI on Windows plugins

I got interested in this plugin:

On the website, it looks like this:
On my computer, it looks like this:
Without the buttons/controls at the top, I can't make it work.
I didn't give it much thought. No big deal. But then I ran into these plugins:

I am particularly interested in CCStepper:

But all of these plugins have the same problem, the top bars of their GUI is missing, and they won't work without it. And maybe it's just me, but I think they they all bear a certain resemblance to the first plugin I reported here. Maybe they have something in common. The GUI tookit?
I've tried running them with Carla, Airwave and vsthost. Always the same result.
I wonder if there is some wine tweak that will fix that.
