Guitarix - look and presets and help

Hey everyone,

I've gotten audio input and output going fine in Ardour 4 now in Ubuntu Studio 16.04. Now I'm messing around a bit with Guitarix. I've got a few questions.

1. Why does my Guitarix that came with Ubuntu Studio 16.04 NOT look like the screenshots on http://www.guitarix.org? The screenshots show a really sleek, green and black UI, whereas the one I have installed is kinda old looking (gxhead 0.34). It looks like the newest version might be 0.35...is there an easy way to upgrade, or to install the latest version?
2. Are there more presets I can download?
3. Any great video tutorials out there for learning Guitarix?

1. The guitarix with the green and black UI is the latest version 0.35 - see http://libremusicproduction.com/news/20 ... e-redesign. Get the latest either from your distro or use kxstudio repository, or compile it yourself.
2. The new guitarix version can also download presets from https://musical-artifacts.com/
3. I don't know much about videos, but there are some at http://guitarix.org/. Also check out http://libremusicproduction.com/article ... d-guitarix

Thanks for the reply! I just added the KXStudio repos and I'm installing the updates. Let's see if this works.

Alright, the new version is up and running thanks to the KX repos. It looks WAY better.

I downloaded a new preset from the site you gave me, but how do I import it into Guitarix? It won't let me simply copy and paste the file into the preset folder.

You can download presets directly from https://musical-artifacts.com/ within Guitarix with menu Presets->Preset Selection->Online
