I have .wav samples of a Vox Contential I'd like to use.
Normally I use .sf2 sound fonts via Qsynth but I have no idea how to use wave samples.
Is it possible and if so what sampler would be used?

You will need a file which will link samples to notes. I'd suggest searching for an sfz editor as this format is widely used. I haven't tried to create an sfz file myself though.

Swami lets you build sf2 sound fonts from wav-files.
