Seriously, there are quite a few around, even on this board, and bass is something most people can record, straight into the interface if necessary.

I used to be a bass player myself (about to take double-bass lessons again) and I can tell you, James Brown and keyboard bass just don't go together

BTW, I know a brilliant bass player in Rio, we recorded a Brasilian big band a few years ago.
