Greetings! I have searched for mentions of Ubuntu 15.10 w/o results. I had a KXStudio 14.04 install that died with a failed hard disk, and want to install fresh on an Ubuntu 15.10 base. What is the best way to proceed? Do I simply install 15.10 then add both the KXStudio repositories and the GCC-5 repo? Or do I only have to add the GCC-5 repository? Also: Is it best to use standard Ubuntu 15.10 desktop (x64, btw), or would it make more sense to install either Kubuntu or UbuntuStudio flavor as a base before adding KX repos? The website for KX has banners about the site contents being under revision... so where can I find authoritative instructions on what steps to follow after adding the repo(s)? Last time I used a KXStudio ISO to install, but there are no 15.10 KX ISOs. Alternatively, should I install the 14.04 (or 14.10?) KX ISO and do a dist-upgrade to 15.10? How would I go about doing that properly if it were recommended? Thanks in advance for your guidance!

Thanks, falkTX, for the quick and personal reply! I'll take your advice and stick with 14.04.x for now. In that case, I suppose, I can just use the KXStudio DVD image rather than play with repos -- not that the repos are so difficult to do manually.

As a follow-up... When I am ready to move to 16.04, would you recommend a dist-upgrade or fresh installation? I have had mixed results in the past (not with KX, but other spins).

Oh yes! I am aware that you are personally responsible for KXStudio, and want to express my deep appreciation for all your very hard work! Yes, we can cobble together our own or use some alternative music distros. But yours, for me, stands above the rest. So thank you! I would even donate if I had funds (I don't.. life works that way sometimes). But when I do have money to help support my favorite FLOSS projects again, yours will be very high on my list.
