Hi I'm Robert, most friends call me Bobby.
I've been making music with computers since my ATARI/Cubase combo in 1991. Last Friday I installed my first Linux system.
The past few years I began taking control of my computer by learning to script with Autohotkey and how to think in HEX midi messages. I guess it was inevitable I would find my way here.
My first install was Ubuntu Studio then AVLinux. I found Ubuntu to be a more reliable desktop, AVLinux to see more of my hardware out of the box. Last night I ran the install for KXStudio and it failed to boot. However I was able to see the Live CD boot and it appears the KDE desktop is more what I'm looking for. And the KX saw the hardware as good as either of the above mentioned.
So greetings and I'll be trying to get this thing installed properly ASAP.
Bobby
