(Forwarded) A problem with special characters on KXStudio

Post by thetotalchaos »

This is a topic from the Facebook forums.
Okey, I have a super annoying problem, there must be some solution.

Quite simply: my KXStudio can't handle any special characters... Like now I wanted to listen the album in the folder "Raôul Duguay - Alllô Tôulmônd (1975)", but I can't play it at all. Mostly the window manager refuses to do any action on the files either, sometimes I can't even rename them... And anyway I can't go and remove the accents from thousands of files on the system with music from non-english speaking countries...

What to do? Is there a driver or something that I can install to make my system understand special characters?
Its concerning not me, but a new KXStudio user, who seems to have troubled first impression with his KXStudio.
