Suggestion about Carla
FalkTX, would it be hard to implement a bypass button for the plugins in Carla? They can be bypassed with the dry/wet knob, but it would be more convenient if there was a bypass button, and even more so if it could be bound to the keyboard or external MIDI controllers.
Re: Suggestion about Carla
Thanks for the reply! Anyway, Today I played a bit with Carla, and just today I realized how much of a genius software it is, allowing you to connect plugins anyway you want it, in a very intuitive way, just like a real rack. I managed to get a rather convincing clean jazz guitar sound with overlaying different plugins, and I was like "wow, why didn't I figure this out a bit earlier?" I think I'll use Carla more than Guitarix (with Guitarix plugins, of course). So yes, the the bypass button would be really handy, I've read the github page, and the idea about a button that bypasses to a changeable wet/dry signal, I mean like - you set the knob on 30 % wet, and then you bypass it to 0 is great, or as you say, the on/off to be bypass actually. So, congratulations on the design!
And as I read you wrote once, maybe indeed you should concentrate more on Carla and Cadence in general, and leave the KXStudio distro a bit behind, for with the KXStudio repos, anyone can set their flavor of KXStudio according to their liking and needs. For example, I tried your KXStudio, with KDE, but it didn't work out for me, instead I'm using a vanilla Ubuntu, touched a bit here and there according to the instructions on the Linux Musicians wiki, and to my liking is perfect, and I would still call it a KXStudio. I also tried Lubuntu with KXStudio repos on my desktop, and it was by far the most stable music production system I've tried.
Anyhow, to cut the long story short, I think you should concentrate more on your Cadence and Carla, because by its significance in the Linux audio world is, I would say, on par with Ardour.
