KXStudio not starting after latest updates

Hello, I report a problem of the sort

I have not been able to access the desktop since I upgraded the synaptic packages. I have to login which is normally disabled, it seems that the login is been checked then the screen get black just for a moment and I get back to the login page.

I give it a try on the console, I may log in but I won't be able to start the desktop.

Any help pleaseee.

I'm using KXstudio (it's so great), I did not did any kind of personal modification or tuning, just updates and software installation (from repositories)

ok sorry, I run ubuntu 14.04.03 LTS

I've been installing it on my hard disk thanks to the live dvd : KXStudio 14.04.2 Live-DVD - 64bit

I'm running KXStudio on 64bit Lubuntu 15.04... no problems upgrading there... but maybe a wise warning after reading this not to update it to 15.10 then until 16.04 comes out officially

my system is still on 14.04. actually I wonder what happened and I wish I can get my data back.
how am I supposed to start the desktop from the terminal, anybody knows?

a simple "startx" command doesnt work?

unfortunately not. the screen goes black for just a sec and then it seems that something does not compute.
Could I get back to my folder if I reinstall by parting the hard drive.

I just tried to run the desktop with startx eventually.
I have no idea how to boot from an other kernel.
may I ask for the command to reinstall the desktop.

btw.. if you cant enter the desktop to retrieve saved work from its partition you could always boot up a live-cd to grab the files from it before formatting (if thats really needed if the linux system is fubar and beyond your capabilities to fix it)

so, I just can operate from terminal

by giving login and password, I get the last log in time and

if i command startx x

the screen blick just once and thencome back to the terminal

there are some information such as operating system and so on
then a list of initializing that stop after extension DRI2
GLX is loading

& then

the xkeyboard keymap compiler xbcomp reports
warning type one level has one levels, but ralt has 2 symbols
ignoring extra symbols
errors from xbcomp qre not fatal to thex server
xinit : connection to the server lost

waiting for X server to shut down EE Server terminated successfully 0 closing log file.

I gave it a try, unfortunately, I've not been able to access most of my data because I missed the authorization

I already reinstalled everything, too bad for the data, but it was not vital. But I wonder if I can archive my data on a folder that will be available as well when using a live dvd session in case of "crisis".
