Hello everybody (tout le monde).
I've recently acquired a new computer - AMD 8-core, 32g ram, tons of disk etc. Its my belated retirement present.
I've always loved music and I've been messing with midi files. I have a technics piano which has a full-size keyboard and is midi-capable, but I haven't hooked it to the computer yet.
I'm a techie by trade. I've consulted in Unix, Linux, Windows and Oracle and other databases for over 40 years. (How time flies!)
I love learning too, and I now have all the time I need to do some of the things I've been wanting to do.
I'm a newbie when it comes to sound and video, but I can play and convert files with no problems.
That's why I'm here - to learn more about makeing music with all this hardware.
Best regards to everyone,
Steve Dupuis
