Hello. For some days, my desktop has been acting funny, KDE does not behave normally. Launchers are lazy, rendering fails, and things in general are slow as if there were something stuck somewhere.
I'm not asking help, but am I the only one, or is it some update problem? In the former case, I guess I'll do a fresh reinstall.
My KDE is acting funny - am I alone?

Check top or htop to see if there are processes running that are unwanted,
or using too much resource for their value.
I install a distro without kde, then install the kde apps I use.
That pulls in the kde infrastructure, without what to me, would be bloat,
and I can use a simpler system gui.
But last I checked, even a full kde didn't use enough cpu/ram
to worry about. I prefer a simple E19 myself, but I'm not a 'power user',
and kde has tons of capabilities for those who will use them.
Cheers
If you install Openbox, and use it for a few sessions,
and things are still klunky, then kde may not be the issue,
look hard at those system processes.
you might run bleachbit as root and user, to be rid of some dross.

No, I'm using the Kubuntu-based kxstudio 14.04. But...so are we moving to 5 already?falkTX wrote:if you are running debian testing this is expected as the move to kde5 is not complete.
if not then I don't really know..
Keep on rocking in the free world!
