falkTX wrote:For those that care, the KX repos are officially ready for Debian Testing and Ubuntu 15.10.

For those running these distros you can do:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kxstudio-repos kxstudio-repos-gcc5
sudo apt-get update

# updating all packages should now work, ie:
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
I've updated the website with instructions for these distros too.
Let me know if you have any issues.

I'll do a small announcement/news next week.
following this procedure on kubuntu 15.10 i end up with the following error:

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
qtractor : Depends: librubberband2 but it is not installable

trying to explicitly install librubberband2 gives the following:

Package librubberband2 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
librubberband2v5:i386 librubberband2v5

E: Package 'librubberband2' has no installation candidate

hmm, still happening this morn.

although i followed the steps above maybe i got my apt sources into some weird state in the changeover, what would be the quickest way to revert everything to standard?

i should add, i thought i might've lost a few kx packages in the upgrade to 15.10, so having rejigged the sources as advised above it's me trying to do an apt-get install kxstudio-meta-audio that's resulting in the error:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
kxstudio-meta-audio : Depends: qtractor but it is not going to be installed or
qtractor-svn but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Should be working now.
yep working fine now, thanks falkTX. ;)

all repositories working smoothly on kubuntu 15.10, apart from the desktop ones, which i don't use.

oh, and what i mean about the desktop meta is not that it doesn't work, but that i haven't tested it cause i don't use it. ;)

i presume it might not be much use on kubuntu now anyway, even if someone did want to use it, with plasma5 being in the last couple of releases?
