It works this way since I remember.
The ALSA-JACK MIDI bridge in Cadence doesn't start automatically, even though that option is enabled in the GUI ("Auto-start at login").
Also, if I start it manually, it never provides ports for hardware devices, even though I have that option enabled all the time. I need to change it back and forth every time before I run the bridge or it won't work.
Anybody else has these problems?
Autostart for Cadence JACK-ALSA MIDI bridge not working

Re: Autostart for Cadence JACK-ALSA MIDI bridge not working
The same for the snd-aloop daemon? It doesn't autostart in a new system I'm building in PCLinuxOS. And doesn't autostart on a friend's PC loaded with KXS on LinuxMint 17. Tried to fix it for him many times without success.
BTW, if you don't know it already. Cadence is finally in the PCLinuxOS repos. Not yet Carla, but I hope it will make it.

Re: Autostart for Cadence JACK-ALSA MIDI bridge not working
Thanks. That will be very welcomed. It's not a big issue, just a couple of mouse clicks, but it's much nicer when everything gets running on its own at boot.

Re: Autostart for Cadence JACK-ALSA MIDI bridge not working
Hi.
Same problem with Cadence. Icon on tray works, but all auto-start items are off. I can start Jack, then each of the bridges manually. I use Cadence for Pianoteq. This problem started about six weeks ago when several updates to the Ubuntu 14.04 kernel were made. On, or about that time, I also was working on getting "MidiPiano" working under Wine 1.6. As such I had to modify Jack settings such that Input and Output devices were digital from none. I also had to change the Midi Driver to ALSA from none. Once saved, and Jack restarted, this program worked. The same settings worked with Midisoft Studio 4.0. To return to PianoTeq settings, I stop Jack, go back to the Jack settings, put the input/output to "none", remove ALSA, and restart Jack. Everything works manually, both configurations. Is there some interference with the Cadence/Jack settings file(s) (perhaps ownership, privilege, etc.)?
Also, is there a a script file that I can use to select the configurations?

Any news about autostarting the ALSA-MIDI bridge? I am having the same problem, it doesn't autostart in Cadence...
