Bluetooth MIDI

Specifically the iRig Blueboard.
I play bass, and I may be joining a band that does an ampless stage setup. Rehearsing at home I use Guitarix. For stage synths I have a chromebook with debian + kxstudio installed in a chroot with good results for real time stage synthesis. So what I am thinking is buying the iRig kit that comes with the iRig HD and the Blueboard as a bluetooth midi controller. My ipad will be my backup solution and I know it all works with various apps on that. But before I purchase this I would like to know if anyone has done a bluetooth midi setup on linux, I have never tried it and additionally don't have access to any hardware to test it out.
