KxStudio Live DVD no audio

Hi Guys, Im trying Kxstudio on my system and booted from the DVD that I downloaded. But I can"t hear any sound. Are we supposed to install KXStudio before we can hear any audio?? I'm also new to linux but all seems to be configured. I am running ubuntu studio on this computer and audio works. I tried all default players and have no sound at all.
Audacious gives me the following error.

ALSA error. No suitable mixer element found
Alsa error. snd_mixer_find_selem failed

EDIT- Another error when I try to play a track in Audacious.

Alsa error. snd_pcm_open failed. Device ot resource busy

I only have the motherboard soundcard at the moment

Ok, I seem to have sound now thanks..
I don't know if it was the fact I restarted jack or if I changed the input and output devices. before, Device/interface had hw0.
Now Device/interface is greyed out and in intput and output devices I selected hw:PCH,0 [VT1708S Analog]. Then input and output channels to 2.

Is it possible to save this configuration to a file and load the right one when we are using different hardware? After installation, of course
