Problem with Scoarlett 2i2 and Ubuntu Studio

Post by great_lakes_timeseed »

I have the 2i2 selected as the input device and interface in QjackCtl, which I assume means that Jack recognizes it. However, when I attempt to record my guitar in either Ardour or Audacity, nothing is picked up. The connection between the guitar and the 2i2 seems to be working because the gain light is lighting up appropriately. I'm completely new to recording music in Linux obviously, so I'm not sure what to do next

Make sure that "system: capture" is connected to the track you want to record to. "system" is the generic name that jack gives to the audio interface, in this case, it must be the Scarlett.

I recommend patchage to track and possibly to make the virtual connections between audio interface and applications. It is equivalent to the Connect window of qjackctl (Jack Control), but nicer.
