Inspired by Todd Rundgren & who else?

When I started multi-track recording (in analog days) Todd Rundgren's albums were such a great inspiration because he produced great music where he played and produced everything; some argued that it gave his music great cohesion.
Anyone think of anyone else who did/ does that?

Roy Wood could be the closest to an English Todd. He played everything on some of his solo albums.

Roberto Ferrante (He didn't sing on the tracks but afaik the rest was him)
The Pineapples track may have been done with not much more than a Linn, Korg Poly 6 and a multitrack recorder with the keyboard parts played in live but I could be mistaken and don't have more authoritative info.

The other obvious pioneer is Mike Oldfield. What is interesting about Todd Rundgren is that he played all the parts of a band so well.
I agree about Roy Wood, I remember his video on Top of The Pops in the UK (I think for Dear Elaine) and the media making quite a big thing about it at the time.
