Kxstudio so cute but firewire 1394 trouble overtorments

Post by paurockster »

I have Terratec Producer Phase 24x and KxStudio last release.
My firewire plug thru pmcia card (unknown manuf.).

A few times a firewire was detected. But it works unstable - big latency and was failed in the end.
I reinstalled the system many times. And the last times 1394 interface can't be find. Help please! Tried another distros but they are worse for me.
Some even couldn't start... so my choice is kx and it final.

That was introduction. So what the deal. Any suggetions?
FFADO and all pcmcia and fireware packaches are installed. Even tried dev versions.

dmesg | grep -i fire
nothing...

Sounds like your problem may be your controller rather than ffado per se. See ffado wiki for recommendations on host controllers:
http://subversion.ffado.org/wiki. The host controller will typically appear as device /dev/fw0 and the audio interface as /dev/fw1. For expert help in debugging firewire problems send query (and subscribe to) ffado-user mailing list - see http://www.ffado.org/?q=contact

Ок, this device claimed as full supported, but this not truth. Or maybe new release kxstudio not supported. I'll wrote to ffado site. Tnx for answer!
