Too many xruns ! What can i do?

Post by ZabrielZacob »

Hello ,

I am trying to congifure the audio in my ubuntu studio 12.04 installation and i have an external usb soundcard behringer u-phoria um2. I have managed to configure all the sound go through jack and when i am starting the jack server i run into many xruns. I am using low latency kernel not realtime. My latency now is at 4ms. But too many xruns. What can i do to solve this?

Thanks!

If you have lots ox xruns even with 256, 48000, 3, there is a problem. Otherwise, in my experience, the lowest you can go with a Behringer USB card (and probably with any usb card) is 128, 48000, 3. I think you are trying 64, 48000, 3. It won't work. Note that I don't use realtime kernels, just low-latency kernels fron ubuntu repos, like you.

I run the sync option, by the way. I think it is a good idea having the server prefix like this:

/usr/bin/jackd --sync
