Sibelius musical instrument sample & Ubuntu 12.04

Post by Veerstryngh Thynner »

Hello all,

In a previous posting (see 'Jazz And Big Band' sample library, elsewhere in this forum), I received really helpful advice on how to transfer Aria musical instrument sample to Ubuntu 12.04, on my desktop.

I learned that Ubuntu, like Aria, "does" sfz. Also explained to me was how to move selected Aria sfz-s, plus associated folders, to Ubuntu 12.04 .

Answers generate fresh questions, sometimes. And so I was wondering, later on, if exporting Sibelius musical instrument sample to Ubuntu might be feasible in similar fashion - provided that Sibelius sample is also built on sfx, of course. I'm not sure it is, though.

Just for clarity: I know that planting Sibelius, as a whole, in Wine is an option - but that's not what I'm after. I just need some Sibelius musical instrument sample to play in Ubuntu as well- if feasible at all. Therefore, I thought it best to make this a separate topic.
