Hi,
I've just installed Pd-Extended, which I use for a long time, on my new 14.04 KX 64bits, from official Ubuntu repository. As always I install PD, I had to change some settings to get it work right, here are some tips:
  • alsa-midi setting is non-permanent: in Media menu, ALSA-MIDI creates an alsa-midi port in Jack, but on next launch, it will say 'Impossible...'. In Edition => Preferences (not sure about the name in english), options at startup, enter:

    Code: Select all

    -alsamidi
then in ALSA-MIDI setting window, just say how many ports you need (one by default)
  • Since the package is made for Ubuntu, which comes with pulseaudio, menu launcher won't work, because command use pasuspender. Right click on Kickoff icon (KDE apps menu, bottom left), and chose Modify Applications. In Media sub menu, select Pd-Extended and remove pasuspender -- from command line.
  • KX dark theme makes menu items and check boxes impossible to read. There is a fix, but I can't find it any more, if anybody knows...
Enjoy PD and KX!
