Rakarrack - Distortion Fixed!

Hi there... Four years have passed since Rakarrack 0.6.1 came out and for me, it wasn't working properly - there was no distortion. I've seen many people to say that the version is useless and broken, some of them reverted to the old version (0.5.8), while others tried to compile the latest from the git. The audio distributions continued to ship with the 0.6.1 package, but Gmaq (from AVLinux) was the only one to remove it and to suggest the old version. Even the developers couldn't help the users who had this issue...
Here is the fix

Code: Select all

rakarrack Waveshape Resampling:0
Put this code into your rakarrack config file ~/.fltk/rakarrack.sf.net/rakarrack.prefs
I have just found it (using KXStudio) and for me it is working! I think that it should work for all of you too.
Test this my friends and let me know the results.

That variable is already set here, in a fresh install. So somebody in the rakarrack team,
is on the job. I'm not a distortion expert,
but there seems to be a good supply of things to chain up in rakarrack.
Also in Guitarix. A lot depends on the things in your gear before and after the ampsim,
and how you monitor your sound. A strong pure input, and quality speaker-cab sim,
or IR setup, mixed in a consistent environment, plays a large part in the end result.
Cheers
