Qtractor: sidechaining/ducking
Hi all,
especially for those making trance stuff it might be interesting that in the recent SVN version of Qtractor sidechaining works both with Harry van Haaren's ducka (from the artyfx collection) and with CALF sidechain compressor.
ducka:
- bus with 3 channels. padsound in goes to in1+2, ducking signal (e.g. kick drum) goes to in3. ducked signal comes out of out1+2.
CALF sidechain compressor
- bus with 4 channels. padsound in goes to in1+2, ducking signal (e.g. kick drum) goes to in3+4. ducked signal comes out of out1+2.

calf sidechain compressor (http://calf.sourceforge.net/plugins/SidechainCompressor) has 4 audio inputs and 2 audio outputs, exactly as bluebell says.xaccrocheur wrote:Hmm are you sure? AFAIK Calf sidechain has 2 inputs, not 4.

Re: Qtractor: sidechaining/ducking
oeh .. thanks for the tip ..
btw couldn't get SC3 to work properly in Qtractor, tried to follow autostatics sidechaining tutorial.
But in Qtractor output 1 (of SC3) has the ducked signal, output 2 the trigger signal (the kick in my case) and output 3 is silent/dead.
Same plugin in Carla works like a charm.

Re: Qtractor: sidechaining/ducking
It's not that long ago that these plugins work in Qtractor. I don't have access to my PC right now. In the sidechaining tutorial video you can see from which version on it definitely works.

Re: Qtractor: sidechaining/ducking
Thanks to this thread, I got sidechaining to work with Qtractor and Calf Sidechain Compressor.
However, in Qtractor when I try to export my final song to a .wav (right-click a track -> Export Tracks -> Audio), the final .wav doesn't have the ducked synth nor the drum. The sound of the ducked synth and drum are not there (but they are there when I play the song in Qtractor).
When exporting, I'm selecting both the 'Master' bus and the 'Sidechain' bus.
Any tips on how to export the song to .wav when using sidechaining in Qtractor?

Exporting:
When your song is so bad that you don't want to play it in realtime
