extracting instruments from a drum kit sf2 to DAW
Hey, I used a drumkit sf2 in LMMS to write a song but now I'm exporting single tracks to import into Ardour. How do I export each instrument of that sf2?
I want each part of the kit on it's own track for mixing.
Only thing I've come up with was loading the sf2 for each instrument but that would be too much, wouldn't it? I mean I would load the kit, create the beat on the first sf2 and then copy the kick, then the snare, etc., to the other sf2 player loaded with the same sf2 so that each player is using only one part of the kit.

When I found sf2 kits I liked enough to use, I made hydrogen kits from the samples.
Making the first few are tedious. Making the next few is...also tedious
But it's easy sailing after that, and you get a powerful hydrogen machine after a while.
I think a couple utilities exist to break out the samples, without re-recording them.
Cheers

glowrak guy, I know what you mean.. I've done it that way and by the time I was done, I had no interest in the song..glowrak guy wrote:When I found sf2 kits I liked enough to use, I made hydrogen kits from the samples.

Synthclone is what I use to rip samples from sf2 and build h2drumkits.

swami allows you to export the samples to individual wave files. Highlight the sample names in swami, right-click on them, and select "Export" from the pop-up menu.

Polyphone can convert sf2 to sfz if I remeber correctly, so you have all the samples at once.
