Hi Everyone! New Linux User here! I make music out of DAW's, notation software, audio editors, etc.
Now that I've introduced myself, I'm searching for a good Linux distro that's dedicated to music and audio production. There's so many it's making my head spin.
Suggest me a distro!

I've been pretty happy with ubuntu studio in the past, but the last few releases leaved a bit to be desired - perhaps give the 64studio 3.0 beta a shot?brncao wrote:I'm searching for a good Linux distro that's dedicated to music and audio production. There's so many it's making my head spin.

Re: Suggest me a distro!
Avoid UbuntuStudio, at least the latest version, I've had some serious problems with it. Try 64studio 3.0 beta, works great, also available as 32bit version if your hardware needs it.
There are of course many others that I haven't tried. Perhaps we need to vote?

Re: Suggest me a distro!
Here's a list of distros for me to try out: Ubuntu Studio, Musix GNU/Linux, JackLab Audio, 64 Studio. Are there anything I should add to the list (Don't suggest everything on the menu please lol), or anything I should remove from the list? I'll multiboot and try them all out.
Remember, I prefer a distro dedicated to music and audio production.

I did look at the thread (and other forums) hence the 4 distros I picked. If these distros are discussed a number of times, then I can go ahead and download all of the top picks and try them all out. I'll go with whatever pleases me the most
