MIDI Sequencer with jack-midi & freewheeling support

Hi, although Ardour3 has some midi editing capabilities, it's not very handy at the moment and has some random problems and the 'percussion mode' does note-off so at least hydrogen cuts the samples very short. The only reason I use Ardour3 for midi is the freewheeling part. I haven't yet found a nice sequencer that would understand jack-midi _AND_ freewheeling.
Muse seems to understand jack-midi, but stays silent during freewheeling.
Any suggestions?

i use it with linuxsampler (much better drum sampler than hydrogen, as it supports SFZ, which has roundroubin capabilities), no problems at all

Thanks, I've been wanting to try linuxsampler as a drum machine, good to hear. Does it support freewheeling?

What does freewheeling in this context mean?

Jack freewheeling. It's the thing that happens when Ardour does export. Perfect way to record softsynths without the fear of xruns.
