Greetings all,
My version of Ardour on my Toshiba laptop is 2.8.16. I prefer Audacity, normally, but since Audacity is corrupted (and, hence, unusable), my sole alternative is Ardour.
- I'm definitely getting audio signal (in audio tracks Bass/Guitar/Clarinet/Violin, Master & Mixer (all meters lighting up), so I should have sound. But no: none whatsoever.
- Sound Settings: output and input all in order;
- Alsamixer: everything as it should be;
- On opening the Ardour score, an Ardour log appears, saying
ERROR]: Unknown connection "Master Out" listed for output of master
[ERROR]: No output connections available as a replacement
- All Jackctl Connections seem present and correct, on the face of it:
Inside Ardour for the first time ever, I'm totally baffled as to what's going on here. I have some understanding of Ardour's basic features (if only since very recently), but I'm by no means an expert. So a little guidance on what exactly to do about this would be very welcome.

Hi FalkTX,
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Just followed your advice - but still no sound.

Re: Ardour: signal, but no sound
Are you sure your system is not muted - have you checked that you can get sound from some other Jack app (say a synth like yoshimi, amsynth (standalone), or clementine, or any number of other possbilities)? Does your system have pulse audio - typically a sure-fired way to mess with Jack. Anyway, you first need to establish that you can get sound from a Jack application to understand Ardour is the problem or your sound config is the problem.
