KXStudio Update Issue

I ran Update Manager today in Ubuntu 12.04 and got the message "Not all updates can be installed". The "Adapter for VST an VSTi audio plugins" (shouldn't that be "and" rather than "an"?) aren't checked and clicking the checkbox will not toggle it.
Just thought I should let falkTX know about it.

I clicked the "Check" button just now and got the same result. Is that what you meant by "reload the software sources" or is there something else I have to do?

Update seemed okay but Upgrade produced the following:
Code: Select all
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
dssi-vst dssi-vst-bridge
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.

I tried upgrading just dssi-vst from Synaptic Package Manager and got the following error. Hopefully, that will provide some additional clues.

Interesting that you mentioned Wine. When I mark both dssi-vst and dssi-vst-bridge for upgrade in Synaptic then click Apply, the summary details are as follows:
Code: Select all
wine1.2 will be removed
wine1.4 will be removed
wine1.4-common will be removed
wine1.4-i386 will be removed
dssi-vst (version 0.9.2+git20130619-0~precise1) will be upgraded to version 1:0.9.2+git20130619-2~precise1
dssi-vst-bridge (version 0.9.2+git20130619-0~precise1) will be upgraded to version 1:0.9.2+git20130619-2~precise1
libosmesa6 (version 8.0.4-0ubuntu0.7) will be installed
wine-gecko2.21 (version 2.21-0kxstudio1) will be installed
wine-mono0.0.8 (version 0.0.8-0kxstudio1) will be installed
wine-rt (version 1:1.6.2-1~precise1) will be installed
wine-rt-i386 (version 1:1.6.2-1~precise1) will be installed
Not sure why it wants to remove Wine 1.4 and install some other Wine packages. Anyway, I went ahead with the upgrade and this time it worked! I have no idea why it worked this time when it didn't work a few minutes earlier. Oh well, the problem is solved.
