2 tutorials on ams-lv2 & Ingen
Hello boys and girls,
I released 2 tutorials on how to use ams-lv2 & Ingen:
- First one is how to create a simple synth with ams-lv2 & Ingen: http://objectivewave.wordpress.com/2014 ... d-ams-lv2/
- Second one is how to use detuning on VCOs (Tune, FM, etc): http://objectivewave.wordpress.com/2014 ... -detuning/
Hope you find them interresting.
Aurélien

Nicely done, Aurelien ! I watched both videos, you have a good enjoyable presentation style. Very informative and helpful resources, thank you for making and sharing them.

Interesting. I' m using AMS myself because you've good presets for it, most notably the miniams. Would it be hard to rebuild those presets for Ingen?

Re: 2 tutorials on ams-lv2 & Ingen
I must get around to trying and learning Ingen and ams, this looks amazing.
Re: 2 tutorials on ams-lv2 & Ingen
I really really want to use ingen more but it crashes almost every single time I open it after I load different plugins.. in general I have not had reliable experiences with drobilla's software (ingen, patchage. machina) particularly on this computer which is incredibly disappointing.

Re: 2 tutorials on ams-lv2 & Ingen
Hi!
I was trying to follow those tutorials but I'm currently stuck at the very start as I can't connect the internal "note" plugin to the "Hz to CV" one
I'm using the latest version from KXStudio and every output of "note" is red and it seems to be the problem. Has anything changed in Ingen (and the tutorial is outdated) or is it a bug?

Good to know! I've already seen some tutorials, saw the LAC 2015 conf. stream, red some papers on Ingen and David has an interesting approach of modular synthesis. Ingen looks very interesting and promising but without any documentation it is quite hard to get into it

Re: 2 tutorials on ams-lv2 & Ingen
Well the main thing from our point of view is that there seems to be a problem preventing it from even starting at all with the version of KX we are running. (And I don't feel like trying to compile an older version and cause conflicts and problems on my system).
There isn't much (any?
) documentation for Ingen but that shouldn't be a problem because if you understand and follow the usual modular synthesis tutorials it should be possible to understand how to use Ingen.

Re: 2 tutorials on ams-lv2 & Ingen
@asbak: thanks for the links even if I knew most of them.
. I'm quite familiar with modular synthesis, having played with Alsa Modular Synth and Pure Data. Igen seems to be a good intermediate solution, hope we'll be playing with it soon
@ falkTX: Well it seems that asbak and I are having the same issue with the note internal. If you try to follow one tutorial explaining how to use AMS-LV2, you'll get stuck at the very fist step: connecting note internal's frequency output to Hz to VC input. Note internal's outputs are red (which seems to mean "anything" in Ingen) but in every screenshot or video they are green, as are the Hz to VC I/O (green seems to mean CV values). This produce a "type mismatch" error that seems logical.
---
... And I just got a notification that it has been fixed in 5733.

It is the same as Barbouze was seeing, ticket 1088 "Type mismatch: ingen:/graph/hztovc/input" issuefalkTX wrote:What issues are you having?asbak wrote:Well the main thing from our point of view is that there seems to be a problem preventing it from even starting at all with the version of KX we are running. I run ingen every day, and besides some minor known issues it runs fine.

I cannot connect Note frequency to HztoVC Input
I'm on LM 17.2 64Bit + KX-Studio
