I run

Code: Select all

amixer sset 'Sync Mode' Master
and the dbx Quantum gets effectively synched via S/PDIF @ 44.1 KHz. Isn't it weird?

Of course, no sound at all.

gnome-alsamixer reports this error when opening:

Bad key or directory name: "/apps/gnome-alsamixer/display_mixers/": Key/directory may not end with a slash '/'
Bad key or directory name: "/apps/gnome-alsamixer/display_names/": Key/directory may not end with a slash '/'

But cannot find any of those two directories within my system.

So you're on progress...

Idon't think you should use RMEdigicontrol, but instead HDSPconf and HDSP mixer. They should be installed in your system.

Really? For the Digi96? I always read the Digis should be used with the rmedigicontrol instead. AFAIK, the HDSPconf is intended for the later hdsp cards...

I'll try anyway.

No luck.

Code: Select all

hdspconf

Looking for HDSP cards :

No Hammerfall DSP card found.

I give up. I have the impression that the card is faulty. Don't have a windows system on hand at this moment to check it, but tried two different computers and a bunch of different Linux distros and the same problem happens every time.

IEC958 sample rate: undetermined

I never seen anyone else having this issue whether the card works fine or is not recognized.

Going for a second hand HDSP9652. Case closed.

I think you should not give up. Google around and you'll see that this card is not recognized by REMdigicontrol and the HDSPware, but some people semm to have success, given some manual settings. Maybe you should ask Paul Davis directly, he is the maintener for the alsa driver. He's the main developer of Ardour, so he's not hard to join.
