... or greetings from Finland.
The guy who wrote the NON-Mixer/DAW, ... ... ... pointed me here.

I'm a Linux veteran, having done my first steps in 95 and using it as my primary desktop since 99. SuSE/Opensuse all the way. I also have some recording and broadcast experience but that's way pre-digital age.
I currently work in the defense industry.

What brings me to the topic is a current project. I recently started an online magazine about wolves and nature as a hobby and we would like to expand to doing podcasts, maybe even go to live broadcasts at some point. I'm currently in the process of determining what kind of gear I want / need. This whole digital world is pretty exciting but I'm fairly overwhelmed by the possible options.

So, question is... Do I go with a semi-analog setup or fully digital?
Semi-analog would mean some nice bc-mixer with USB, like the Allen & Heath XB-10 and use the comp only to supply material/music and record the program.
Or - fully digital - e.g. a Behringer U-Phoria, X-Touch Compact and e.g. The NON-suite.

I should mention that my experience is more on the bc side than the studio side and I'm used to the bc workflows - which partially are annoyingly different.
