The worst part of Cadence and KXStudio for me is this bug:
https://github.com/falkTX/Cadence/issues/64
I opened that six months ago but still no response from Mr F. It still affects me today in that, if I use 'switch master' (which I nearly always do) under Cadence, my first attempt at rebooting always gets cancelled by cadence. Really annoying!
Another thing thats wasting a lot of my time is the amout of clicking thats required for me to switch audio device. Here's my current procedure, with Cadence:
Open Cadence and move window to foreground / desktop if not visible
Click 'configure'
Choose 'Driver' tab, if not selected already
Select ouput device
Click OK
Click 'Switch master'
It doesn't sound like much but when you need to do that 10/20x a day it gets very repetitious. Under OSX (and Windows too, IIRC) you can change audio device in a click or two if you have your sound settings open. What I want is a little app to enable me to switch between JACK audio devices in 1 or 2 clicks. Does anyone know of something suitable? I'll write it myself if it doesn't already exist.

Re: cadence log out bug / JACK device switcher app
Hi F!
I'd expect you've not experienced and can't reproduce this bug because you still don't have any USB audio devices - right? I get this error after I've used 'switch master' under cadence to switch output to/from my internal audio chipset to using a USB one.
If so, may I suggest you buy a cheap usb soudcard if only to be able to debug stuff like this? You can literally buy them for £1

Send me your address and I'll get one posted to you! Its a quid!
Thanks for the tips on switching jack devices from the terminal - I dont have time to play with it now but will do so soon.
