M-Audio Fast Track no Input signal

Dear LinuxMusicians,

i have a problem with my USB Audio Interface (M-Audio Fast Track).
I'd like to play Bass over the Ampeg SVX software. In the Software i can change in the Audio Settings DirectX to ASIO. The output sound is already ok. I get the "click" on my Headphones but i get no Input signal.

Facts:
Wineasio is already installed.
Wine Version: 1.6.1
Linux: Debian Wheezy
KXstuido Repo already in use.
Jack is also installed

Make sure that jack is up and running and the capture ports connected to wineasio, what is the terminal output of the following command?

Code: Select all

jack_lsp -c
Also, how did you setup jack? And please show the terminal output of:

Code: Select all

arecord -l && aplay -l
because some audio cards are tricky, with tricks you need to know.

And make sure capturing levels are OK in:

Code: Select all

alsamixer
(in case the fast track has software controls at all, probably not, but worth checking)

Connections seem OK but I would try connecting (virtually, in jack audio)
capture 1 (the jack, digital audio side corresponding to the first physical input in the Fast Track) TO both ampeg 1 and 2.

Also, did you check alsamixer. Your fast track is card 1, so do a:

Code: Select all

alsamixer -c1
I guess you already know the following because playback works but you have to select hw:1 in qjackctl or Cadence as the interface. Maybe it is worth to start jackd manually from the command line, just for diagnosing purposes (you can make the connections afterwards in qjackctl or Cadence-Catia):

Code: Select all

jackd -d alsa -dhw:1
(Note that card numbering could change between reboots so it might be a better idea use the name instead of the number. The Fast Track is called hw:Track )

Also, did you register wineasio after installing it?

Code: Select all

regsvr32 wineasio.dll

Hi Pablo,

The root of all evil is in the settings from jack.
It's not capture 1 to both ampegs input. Capture 2 is the holy grail ;-)
Both Inputs from the Ampeg SVX connected to capture 2 and all is fine!

Thx for help!
