Hi, I'm new to Linux, specifically using Ubuntu (I think it is very accessible for someone like me). previously need to improve the performance of my pc (RAM) to get good results with KXStudio, as I want to record using different guitars amplifiers and microphones. What kind of system would be the best for good results? What kind of adapter to connect the microphone jack (6.3 mm) to the computer)?
thank you all for your attention and congratulations for creating this community,
juan

Re: Hi!
Hi Juan,
I'm a telecaster player too! If possible it would be a good idea to get yourself a USB interface to plug either line level stuff like a tele or low impedance stuff like mics, It is possible to adapt to sound card inputs but often the results are unsatisfying and can result in a lot of unwanted noise and hum.
There is a great resource here with some suggested interfaces: http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/hardware_support
