Hey all,
I'm pretty new to music production generally and doing so on linux specifically. I recently killed my windows/ ubuntu studio dual boot in favor of all linix all the time. So I installed yhe latest ubuntu studio version (13.10) and used the procedure on the kxstudio website to add the new repos. I noticed that while several apps were installed cadence and the other "c" apps are nowhre to be found. I know that the new repos are still a work in progress but I wanted to make sure that this is why cadence is missing an not some other stupid thing I might have done.Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for the fast reply falkTX. I used the steps outlined in the Ubuntu section of the page you linked to get the repos. I'm not in front of my machine at the moment but when i ran an apt-get install cadence command this morning it gave me some sort of error saying it could not find that package. I'll try it again this evening and post results. Thanks again for being so responsive to total noobs like me!

So I attempted to run the command in the prior post and got an "unable to locate package" message for both cadence and carla. If I go through the steps to add the repos it says that they are already the latest versions. Not sure where to go next may be I'll just go with a clean kxstudio install from the live disc.

I installed from the ISO and everything is fine. I'm even liking KDE, it took a little getting used to after being on XFCE for a while but I dig it. Thanks FalkTX for putting together such a asolid distro. Everything just worked ! Exc ellent. I wonder what the deal was with my Ubuntu Studio 13.10+repos issues...

Is there any way that we (interested users) could expedite the process of making the kxstudio repositories available to debian/13.10?

The repos already work with Debian (I'm using Sid/unstable), don't know about Ubuntu 13.10

I thought that they were enabled but didn't have most of the apps yet available, has that changed?

Well, some of the meta packages would not install, but I found if I changed the order of installation most would work, and I just installed manually the packages of those that wouldn't. Depends on how desperately one wants Debian I guess. Heh.

most of my dpproblems went away when I stopped using ubuntu..especially 13.04.
