Rated Blue Mixes - Joy

Post by GMaq »

Hi,

I'm working on a full album that I hope to complete and release this year, I'm not certain yet which avenue I will take with it as far as distribution (ie Creative Commons etc.) but I will be posting some mixes and perhaps creating some relevant Linux Audio workflow screencasts as I go along until it's completed. Not that I expect anyone to really listen to my life story but some of this material has been sitting unfinished for 20 years (along with some brand new songs) and I am harnessing the energy from my mid-life-crisis to just get this done once and for all!

The working title of the project is 'Rated Blue' and it will be very 'Rootsy' and combine Rock, Blues, Soul and Jazz influences.

This song 'Joy' has been posted in earlier incarnations and I have been unsuccessfully chasing a mental arrangement for it for years. My recent dabbling with Hydrogen and Addictive Drums have finally gotten it sonically down to a Bony n' Boomy Power-trio arrangement that is more what I was looking for. Of potential interest to guitar geeks is that the main guitar is a Baritone Telecaster tuned down to 'C'.

Comments, Critiques and Questions are welcomed,
