The Bad Fucoz!

Post by rastagallo »

Here's a demo I made with my band using only KXstudio stuff!
The mix sounded really good, but the mastering process has ruined it quite a bit...
I'm looking forward to study how to use well Jamin, so the our next album (release scheduled in november) will really ROCKZ!

I don't know how the mix sounded but if I have to trust my ears it all sounds really allright, doesn't it? :)
No frequencys popping out or overcompression/dynamics squashing.
I like the backing vocals (primarly) on the first track. (Welcome To The Fuco)
And some interesting guitars.
With some years of practice I can maybe get as good as you guys.
Btw, mastering your own stuff can be fun but also hard from time to time.
Multi-band compression can be a great tool but it can be hard to learn I find.
And the solos are really clean.
The Smells Like Teen Spirit cover guitar/bass tones sound almost as great as the original from Nirvana.
I enjoyed listening to these. :D

Yep. Nice.

Sounds like a fun band to play in. Too bad you guys aren't within 100 miles of me and in need of a bass player.

Wait.

Maybe that's a good thing! :)

Please play "these boots are made for Fucoz" Make sure the bassist uses a slide. Shot glass works just fine, heavy enough to do the job on thick roundwound strings, plus comes with a sometimes entertaining payload--but avoid schnapps: causes sticky strings and fingers while drying. Virtually guaranteed to be a hit if played well and with bombastic humour. Might be able to radically s-l-o-w i-t d-o-w-n for added impact. (You ever seen a dance crowd dance in 3/4 at 23bpm? Trust me, it's worth seeing. But then, I always enjoy seeing a [strike]trainwreck[/strike] waltz in slowtime!)

The mix sounded good to my ear, but why the notch in the first two tracks at 4.5kHz?
