LinuxMusicians

I`m running KxStudio in a flash drive to test and I like it. First KDE4 distro that actually worked except for this problem.
I do have sound when I play a dvd with VLC. I tried updating both flash and firefox and still no sound. Any suggestions?

Edit: When I use SmPlayer youtube this is what happens : of the one in one hundred videos that don`t crap out when I click the play button,I do get sound. Never liked SmPlayer youtube, I think it`s basically garbage, so this is not surprising.

The Cadence setting you suggested is the default one and pulseaudio is not installed. I ran alsamixer and put everything at max. and
still firefox/youtube has no sound.

Jack was indeed running but I restarted it thinking that might help and bingo everything works fine now. Thanks for the help. Nice...............
