"My YouTube video"

Hey guys,

I made a "quick and dirty / lame" video of how I use linux apps and addictive drums together. It's kind of lame because I don't say anything and the sound sucks big time. Just take it as some sort of teaser :)

I also had to do everything on one screen (I have two monitors) so it sucks even more

Aha liked the video! :) You worked very hard :)

- what is addictive drums? A VST plugin? Why not hydrogen?
- which programs did you use?
- which program did you use to record this video?

rock on! ;)

ps:
- why is everone putting video's on youtube... isn't there a better place? You Tube gathers sets a whole lot of cookies and google gathers to much information with the combinations of youtube, google, gtalk etc. etc.

Please post you next video on a better site ;)

I wrote about it in this forum, somewhere ... maybe under "Software reviews", not sure anymore.

OK, found it : http://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?t=28

you mean for the music ?
AD for the drums, ardour for recording, rosegarden for MIDI, and Jamin for mastering (the grey-green window I open a bit before the end of the video.

Just my digital camera, dumped the avi to my laptop and loaded it in youtube. I already made a "video" using 'wink' but it only renders in swf (flash format version 7). You cannot upload that in youtube.

I sure will :D

I wish I could, I agree with you mostly. I don't like youtube very much, in fact, I think it sucks a bit and I never spend my time on it (like other trendy websites like facebook, etc, pure waste of time). I did this because youtube enjoys a lot of viewers and because I wanted to prove the AD guys that linux was worth it (I posted the link on their forum). OK, could have been a better video ...

I don't know, is there? (I recently heard some positive stories about viddler, but haven't tried it myself yet).
