I really haven't done any proper recordings worth saving yet. I've dabbled a lot and deleted a lot and gotten distracted trying to learn how to use different programs.
But, I was trying to show my student how to use KXStudio, so I decided to just make a complete pop style recording from scratch in the 10-15 minutes we had left in the lesson.
I used Hydrogen and Ardour and a couple plugins for reverb, distortion, and delay. Aside from Hydrogen, it's just two tracks of acoustic nylon string guitar recorded right into the netbook microphone. And then I forgot to even put a limiter on the master so it's overloaded. The whole thing from opening the programs to getting the mixed MP3 was 15 minutes. Nothing was precomposed, all the drums and the chords and melody were just first take, made up on the spot, that's it.

This sets the bar low so I have it easy doing better from here.
