Check it out! They bothered listing Linux!!!

Only $150!

If you pre-order one, make sure to tell whoever you order it from that you are getting it to use with GNU/Linux!

I just ordered mine. I was searching for a long time for the best after-touch options and all of them were too expensive, too bulky. This is better in every way, more portable, more expressive, and even cheaper than any other after-touch capable controller!

Looks like an interesting keyboard. Do you know what synths on Linux can use aftertouch? I know some of the Pianoteq instruments can.

I don't know which use aftertouch, and I currently don't own an aftertouch keyboard. But surely I could route the aftertouch to do whatever CC signal!

I think Qsynth and Phasex does.
No sure about midi CC routing, Qmidiarp reports "Unknow event" when I use aftertouch with my Axiom 49 advanced...

That thing looks not significantly different than the Haaken Continuum http://www.hakenaudio.com/Continuum/
and that's been out for a long time. I've played one. It's neat. Hard to get effective attack and velocity because it is about pushing in more. Anyway, I'd own one if they weren't $3500-$5000 (for half vs full size).

The interesting thing about that Roli device is mostly if it will be much cheaper than the Continuum. It looks like it also has other unique quirks that are both pros and cons in comparison. And there's lots of other fascinating boutique instruments out there…

The Keith McMillen thing is simple, portable, USB powered, and costs only $150. That's what makes it remarkable, not just having aftertouch.

By the look of it, I don't believe that it will offer any agreeable playing to musicians....
In other words, it plays like crap...

You obviously have never touched any of these things, any of the Keith McMillen instruments. This will not feel like a piano in any sense. But these things are exceptionally responsive and very high quality.

Admittedly, I never touched one. And yes, I am a pianist, and keyboards that don't look like a piano (or synth or organ) feel very awkward to me. To be honest, I even hated the feel of a Rhodes MKII73, which I played many years...
To me, it looks more like a fun gadget than a serious musical instrument.

The former "fun gadgets" are all that exist. The latter "serious musical instrument" isn't a real thing. Pianos are nothing more than fun gadgets. Cheers.
