Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
It looks like Samplecat wants to install MySQL, which seems pretty excessive for something that is essentially a file browser that plays audio. But if this is the best tool Linux has to offer, I'll take it.falkTX wrote:Anyway, does that look something that would be useful to you?
Ah, good old Linux, where not wanting to build everything from scratch is considered entitlement. Great community.sysrqer wrote:...your attitude isn't going to achieve anything.

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Hi falkTX,
I'm using KXStudio on a Debian Jessie release, and Audacity's current release requires wxWidgets version 2.8.11 or 2.8.12 in order to function correctly. Can this version be added in the repos as a backup? It'd make Audacity in Jessie much easier to use!
For to put the info link. Here it is: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Devel ... #wxWidgets

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Ok, I'll check back soon! I don't know if it's just for Audacity, as far as I know, yes. Although a few posts back some were talking about Musescore giving lots of errors... it made me wonder if it was wxwidgets-related or not. But I haven't tested it to see.falkTX wrote: I can't do that.
the kxstudio repos are for generic packages, and you can't have a system wide library that will be compatible with all sorts of Debian and Ubuntu releases.
JACK is usually ok since it's a simple API and packages are already shared between debian/ubuntu.
anything that uses gtk is patched by ubuntu for unity support, which can break things in debian.
If this is only needed for audacity perhaps I can hurry up and see if I can do a proper update via kx repos.
Ping me next week again if audacity is not packaged yet.

Hi FalkTX!
I was looking for OSC sequencers, mainly for automation in Carla and found two pieces of interesting software:
- http://i-score.org/ seems to be powerful but simple enough to create complex automation easily,
- http://www.glitch-sequencer.com/videos.php is a cellular automaton based MIDI/OSC sequencer
Don't know if they may find a place in KXStudio repositories but they bring interesting concepts.

Just saw that today on KVR :
http://www.kvraudio.com/product/atkside ... eu-brucher
tagged "Linux" but not build available. I don't know if it's easy to package, though.

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
While updating setBfree I had this error, translation from french to english in ()
What should I do?
Code: Select all
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/setbfree_2%3a0.8.0-1kxstudio3_amd64.deb (--unpack):
(trying to replace) « /usr/lib/lv2/b_synth.modgui/manifest.ttl », (that also belongs to) x42-plugins 2:20150702-1kxstudio2Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
I love seeing how quick you work, maximum respect for that.
Is everything that can be installed on a standard KXStudio install from your repos or are the Ubuntu repos enabled as standard? (Sorry I've not been at my computer enough to remember to just check these things myself, plus not having internet at home makes it hard to check against latest version etc.)
One of the questions I am asking is mp3diags is a program I use on a regular basis and the Ubuntu version has always been very old! He does have his own repo (although this means the application is launched with MP3Diags rather rather than lower case mp3diags.) There were always a few others but that was probably the most niche, less popular one.
Various downloads and links to his repo etc can be found on this page (if you are not already packaging it.) http://mp3diags.sourceforge.net/010_get ... ogram.html

So, what's this fork of OpenOctave going to be called, so I can keep a watch on it?falkTX wrote:OpenOctave is abandoned and hasn't had any work done on it since 2012.
But a fork of it will appear later this year
