Hi All,
I have just joined this forum. I have been using ubuntu studio for about a year now after being a mac user for several years. It looks to me like KXStudio is the way forward.
When I first installed ubuntu on my mac book pro I remember there were some specific steps I needed to take. Or at least I thought I did, but later it looked like they were unessasary and I could of just done a strait install from dvd without any problems?
Basically my question is.. Is there a specific tutorial for installing kxstudio onto a mac? Can I just use the dvd install from the kxStudio website and follow there instructions?
(KXStudio 12.04.1 Live-DVD)
http://kxstudio.sourceforge.net/Downloads
Thanks all for your help.

Re: Installing on mac book pro
Thanks falkTX
I am going to follow this tutorial https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Macte ... stallation
with ubuntu 12.04 (recommended by KXStudio) as a single install (osx on a usb) and then do the steps to upgrade to KXStudio listed
here http://kxstudio.sourceforge.net/Documen ... tu:Upgrade
and here http://www.penguinproducer.com/Blog/201 ... th-ubuntu/
Hope those links help anyone else wanting to go down the same path.

Re: Installing on mac book pro
I know it's an old thread but I ran across it yesterday and since nobody followed up to falkTX I figured I'd follow up with my own shot of KXStudio running on a 17" macbook pro (with a 27" apple thunderbolt secondary monitor attached)
Seriously nothing to it - install rEFIt (or rEFInd) and edit the grub entry before launching kxstudio to allow amd GPU and the rest is completely straightforward...
