I'm not 100% sure who or what inspired this but I totally agree with this F.
I know I was wondering, again, only in the last couple of days how you cope maintaining and supporting your numerous free projects yet manage to keep your cool. Its another admirable trait of the falktx! Rui is another excellent example of how to do it as I've never seen him get involved in any flame wars or bitching about other projects.
What do these people gain from slagging off other free projects? Absolutely nothing other than making themselves look childish! The time spent saying project x is crap could've been much better spent writing code, docs or music and really making a difference.

Please don't take this too badly but as an impartial observer I did notice that your responses are part of the problem, you probably don't do it on purpose but nonetheless you seem to have a way to wind some people up badly. I do think it would help for the sake of keeping this forum friendly if you resisted answering back.falkTX wrote:hehe, seems like we have another one.
damn it's very hard to resist not to answer back. I just hope the "silent treatment" works
Jeff seems a capable developer with a lot of enthusiasm for what he does, driving him away and possibly making him abandon Linux and the FOSS world wouldn't benefit anyone.
Re: People show their true colors when under pressure
FalkTX, I don't think it's your fault at all. It doesn't matter if a guy with a problem is a talented coder or not. When he throws shit at you, why smile at pretend it's the rain falling? You didn't say anything offensive. What you wrote was true and wrote in polite manner. If he chooses to abandon "foss and linux" then it's his choice, I don't think it really matters in the long run. People come and go, it's natural. He is not the only DSP programmer in the world, I assure you. If he is not mature enough to treat people as they should be treated then why care?
I understand his behavior. He really cares about his software and wants people to use it but at the same time he insults everybody who disagrees with him and protect himself by saying he doesn't care about the userbase of his software which is a lie because if he didn't he wouldn't argue with everybody neither he would post long, informative posts under every question regarding pydaw or euphoria. Does a developer who don't care about his software's userbase spend a lot of time helping newbies? I don't think so.
Jeff, if you are reading this, know that I am not hostile towards you and actually I am curious how your software projects will work when they are done. I keep fingers crossed for your development. However, I just can't stand your attitude. I see that you desire appreciation and by looking at your work I think you deserve it. To obtain it you need to be more patient and wait for people to appreciate your doing. It can't be rushed. You won't speed it up by repeating ten thousand times how wonderful your software is. By doing this you only make people think you are narcissistic.

Greetings,
I did learn at least one very valuable and positive thing from the exchanges with jeffh - I now know how to set up the Friends & Foes option in my User Control Panel. Works like a charm, you guys should check it out. Has a pleasant, calming effect, it's a very soothing option.
Best,

I had to work with a real arrogant person before, in the studio. I fixed the issue quickly by calmly saying." I'm your last chance at this, because nobody wants to work with you." The person treated me nicely during the session...
