QSynth tray icon and Unity

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

QSynth tray icon and Unity

Post by deufrai »

Hi there,

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 with KXStudio repos (all up-to-date)

I have an issue with qsynth that simply renders it unusable :
The menu that pops up when you click qsynth's tray icon is just empty. So I cannot even have qsynth's main GUI to display

Am I the only one with this issue ?
Think, it ain't illegal yet
And use Qrest, it won't hurt : http://www.qrest.org

Usually make noise with a Warwick $$ 5 strings bass hooked to a zoom B9.1ut and an M-Audio FastTrack PRO

This is not maintained anymore and was always buggy.

Use Linuxsampler/Jsampler; now can load soundfonts, too

Hi,

Indeed qsynth has some flaws and seems abandonned for some time now.

I do use Linuxsampler with Fantasia as a front end, but sometimes when loading sound fonts with a huge count of instruments, Linuxsampler just fails.
Anyway, I'm out of luck searching for a replacement GUI for fluidsynth... I'll dig more into fluidsynth's DSSI hosts out there...

Thanks

the plugin may not be very stable, so do a little testing first.
Looks good so far. Thanks for the advice
